The difference between the two most popular styles — and when to use each.
Indian style
Dense, detailed, covering the whole hand. Fine lines, jaali, motifs and figures. It takes longer — which makes it ideal for bridal work.
Arabic style
Bold strokes, flowing vines and negative space. It is quicker to draw and reads clearly from a distance — perfect for guests and functions.
Which to offer when
- Bridal booking → Indian, with figures
- Sangeet or mehndi guests → Arabic
- A client short on time → Arabic
- A photography-heavy event → Arabic with negative space
